Otaku Vampire's Love Bite Gets a TV Anime, Teaser Visual and PV Revealed
Julietta Suzuki's vampire rom-com Oshi ni Amagami is getting a TV anime, with an official site, teaser visual and announcement PV now out.

Good Oshi Day delivered exactly the right kind of news: Julietta Suzuki's manga Oshi ni Amagami, published in English as Otaku Vampire's Love Bite, is getting a TV anime. The official anime X account opened alongside an official website, a teaser visual and a short announcement video, all timed to November 4 in Japan.
If Suzuki's name rings a bell, it should. She is the creator of Kamisama Kiss, and this newer series runs in Hakusensha's Hana to Yume. The magazine's issue 23, out November 5, puts the series on its cover to celebrate the news.
The premise is a fun twist on the vampire romance. Hina is a vampire who spent some 30 years shut away indoors and then moves to Japan to live her best otaku life. Her new neighbor, Amanatsu, looks exactly like her favorite character, and his blood happens to draw vampires to him wherever he goes. The official site sums it up as a pure otaku vampire meeting a slightly sharp-tongued handsome guy, in a bloody romantic comedy.
The teaser visual says a lot about the tone. Hina is curled up in a coffin full of white roses, holding a blood pack and surrounded by Amanatsu badges, while the real Amanatsu lies right beside her. It is shrine-building fan energy taken to its logical, slightly unhinged extreme, and I love it.
What we do not have yet is just as important. The announcement names no studio, no broadcast window and no cast, so anything you see floating around about those details is not official for now.
I am curious how the adaptation handles the comedy timing, since so much of the manga's charm comes from Hina's inner fan monologue colliding with a guy who has no idea he is someone's oshi. I will keep an eye on the official channels for the first cast and staff reveals.
