Twisted-Wonderland anime Episode of Savanaclaw hits Disney+ on December 23 with a new visual

Leona Kingscholar finally gets his turn. Disney+ Japan announced today that Disney Twisted-Wonderland The Animation: Episode of Savanaclaw starts streaming on Wednesday, December 23, 2026, as a Disney+ exclusive. The new arc runs eight episodes, with a fresh one landing every Wednesday.

The announcement came with a new visual, and I like how uneasy it feels. The Savanaclaw students are clearly up to something, while the protagonist and Grim brace themselves with wary looks, and the Heartslabyul crew shows up too. That fits the story setup: ahead of the inter-dorm Magical Shift tournament, students start getting hurt, and the investigation by our hero, Grim, Ace and Deuce leads straight to Leona's scheme.

The voice cast for the new dorm was revealed earlier this year:

• Leona Kingscholar: Yuichiro Umehara
• Ruggie Bucchi: Sou Ichikawa
• Jack Howl: Taito Ban

Takahiro Natori returns as chief director and series composition writer, with Shin Katagai directing. Yumeta Company and Graphinica handle animation again, and studio Graphinica shared the news on its own account as well.

My take

Savanaclaw is the chapter a lot of game players were waiting for, because it is where the series stops being a school comedy with a rose garden and turns into a story about pride and resentment. Leona is a great antagonist on paper, and Umehara's low, lazy delivery is a perfect match. Eight episodes is the same compact size as the first arc, so I expect a tight pace rather than a slow build.

The first series, Episode of Heartslabyul, did very well for Disney+, so a quick follow-up makes sense. A late December start also means the finale should land in February. The announcement doesn't say anything about release timing outside Japan yet, so keep an eye on your local Disney+ listings.
