Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend gets a three-night theatrical run in February 2027
The final Rascal Does Not Dream film screens on February 21, 23 and 24, 2027, with both the English dub and subtitled versions.

Sakuta and Mai are coming to the big screen one more time. Crunchyroll announced today that Rascal Does Not Dream of a Dear Friend, the film billed as the conclusion of the Rascal Does Not Dream series, will play in theaters for three nights only: February 21, 23 and 24, 2027. Both the English dub and the original Japanese audio with subtitles are part of the run, and Aniplex USA and the series' official account were tagged in the announcement.
The film shares its title with the final volume of Hajime Kamoshida's light novels, so this really is the last stop for the story that started with a bunny girl in a library. CloverWorks produced it, with Kaito Ishikawa and Asami Seto back as Sakuta and Mai.
Why I'm circling these dates
Rascal has always been a series that rewards patience. What looked like a quirky romance about "Adolescence Syndrome" turned into one of the most thoughtful character dramas of the last decade, and the films have carried a lot of its biggest emotional moments. Ending it with a theatrical run instead of a quiet streaming drop feels right for fans who have followed Sakuta from high school into university life.
A few practical notes if you plan to go:
- It's three nights, not three weeks. Limited event screenings like this tend to sell out the best showtimes first.
- Decide early whether you want the dub or the sub, since theaters usually split them across different nights or screens.
- If you haven't caught up, the university arc anime, Rascal Does Not Dream of Santa Claus, leads straight into this story.
The announcement doesn't list theaters or a ticket sale date yet, so keep an eye on Crunchyroll's channels over the coming weeks.
