Pokemon UNITE is shutting down in March 2027: what to do before the servers go dark
Pokemon UNITE ends service on March 23, 2027. Gem sales have stopped, a Grand Shop Sale is live, and a Library update lands November 12.

Pokémon UNITE has an end date. According to the official notice, service ends on Tuesday, March 23, 2027 at 00:00 UTC on both Nintendo Switch and mobile. That gives players almost five months, and the announcement makes it clear there are a few things worth doing before then.
What has already changed
Aeos gem sales stopped on October 27, 2026. Gems you already own still work until shutdown. The Japanese notice adds that UNITE Membership has also closed to new sign-ups and auto-renewal, and that unused paid gems are set to be refunded after the end of service through an in-game form, so it says not to delete the game. Free gems are not covered.
At the same time, a Grand Shop Sale opened on October 27 at 05:00 UTC and runs until the end. Discounts go up to 80%, and past items are returning, including Holowear and Trainer fashion that used to be tied to events or battle passes.
The November 12 update
On Thursday, November 12 at 04:00 UTC, an update adds a Unite Coin Exchange, new Unite Coin missions and a log-in bonus, and a Library feature. The Library is the part to care about: after shutdown it will let you look back at your Holowear, licenses, fashion, achievements, tournament records and more, with items and emblems in view-only form.
My checklist
- Finish the Library data download before March 23. The notice says the data generally can't be moved to a new device, and there's no support after shutdown.
- Do any boost emblem merges and held-item level-ups now, so your Library record reflects them.
- Spend gems on anything you have wanted from the sale.
Competitive players aren't left hanging either: the Japanese notice says the Aeos Crown 2027 Tokyo tournament goes ahead as planned, with qualifiers starting December 5, 2026. For a game that launched on Switch on July 21, 2021, that's a proper send-off.
