Hello Kitty Party Land is out now on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2. Bandai Namco Entertainment released the Sanrio party game on October 29, and the official site lists G-Style as the developer.

The pitch is simple and very Sanrio: you join the party at Party Land and play mini games alongside the characters you already love. The numbers are generous for a family title. There are over 145 Sanrio characters to meet, each with a sticker to collect, and 16 of them are playable. You can also build your own avatar, changing everything from hairstyles to outfits, with more items unlocked as you play.

The core is a set of 45-plus mini games for one to four players, offline or online. There is a Board Game mode too, and I like one small detail here: you can keep playing quick mini games while you wait for your turn, which should cut down on the dead time that drags so many party games down.

Bandai Namco is selling three versions. The Standard Edition is just the game. The Day 1 Edition adds a coloring book and a sticker pack. The Premium Edition adds hologram cards and a plush keychain on top of those. On the US Nintendo store, the Switch version is listed at 49.99 dollars.

For anime fans, this is a light pick rather than a big deep game, but Sanrio has a huge crossover audience, and a couch game where a whole crowd of Sanrio characters shares one board is an easy sell for a holiday get-together. Bandai Namco has also put a full game manual online if you want to check the controls first.

All the details, trailers and editions are on the official Hello Kitty Party Land site.
