Bocchi the Rock! Gets a 2027 Movie, Hoshi no Ashiato, Centered on Seika and Nijika Ijichi
Aniplex reveals the Bocchi the Rock! film for 2027 with Maaya Uchida as Seika, plus Kessoku Band's first Asia tour to Osaka, Seoul and Hong Kong.

Bocchi the Rock! is coming back in 2027, and the big surprise is who the story is about. Aniplex has announced Bocchi the Rock! the Movie: Hoshi no Ashiato (roughly "Footprints of the Stars"), with a teaser trailer, a teaser visual and an introduction now up on the official site.
What has me most excited is the focus. The first two cast members announced are Seika Ijichi, voiced by Maaya Uchida, and Nijika Ijichi, voiced by Sayumi Suzushiro. That's the owner of STARRY and her younger sister, not Hitori. The film adapts the manga's special prologue story about Seika, and this sounds like the chance to finally see the history behind that live house animated.
Who is making it
- Original work: Aki Hamaji (serialized in Houbunsha's Manga Time Kirara MAX)
- Director: Shin Wakabayashi
- Screenplay: Erika Yoshida
- Character design: Yukiko Horiguchi
The cast and main staff have also shared comments alongside the reveal. No exact release date yet, just 2027.
Advance tickets and a tour on top
The first advance movie ticket (Mubichike) goes on sale in Japan on November 6, priced at 1,600 yen. It uses a new illustration of Seika and Nijika drawn by Horiguchi, and early buyers get a matching sticker while stock lasts.
Kessoku Band isn't sitting still either. The same site announced Kessoku Band ASIA TOUR 2027 "To Asia.", with two days at INTEX Osaka on March 13 and 14, then Seoul (KINTEX) on May 8 and Hong Kong (AsiaWorld-Expo) on May 22. Yoshino Aoyama, Sayumi Suzushiro, Saku Mizuno and Ikumi Hasegawa are all on the bill, and ticket details for Seoul and Hong Kong will come later.
My take: a Seika-centered film is a smart move. It deepens the world without forcing a rushed season 2 storyline into a movie, and it gives Nijika the spotlight she has quietly earned since 2022.
