Hiiragi-san Chi no Kyuuketsu Jijou Gets a TV Anime, Revealed With a Halloween Teaser

Miki Yoshikawa's comedy about a boy taken in by a family of vampires is getting a TV anime, revealed with a super teaser visual of Yukie.

A traditional Japanese house at night under a full moon, with one glowing window

Halloween came a few hours early for Miki Yoshikawa fans. At midnight Japan time on October 31, the official account and a newly opened website confirmed that Hiiragi-san Chi no Kyuuketsu Jijou, her vampire family comedy running in Kodansha's Bessatsu Shonen Magazine, is getting a TV anime.

What was revealed

The announcement is short, but it comes with a super teaser visual of Yukie, the second Hiiragi daughter, that sets a playful, moonlit mood. The official site lists UNLIMITED PRODUCE by TMS as planning producer. No studio, director, cast, premiere window or streaming partner has been named yet, and the team is asking fans to wait for more news.

The setup

The story follows a boy who has grown up without a family and is finally taken in by the Hiiragis, a household that seems almost too perfect, living in a grand Japanese-style house. On his very first night he learns their secret: everyone in the house except him is a vampire. That leaves him wondering whether he has really found a home, or just ended up on the menu. The official site pitches it as a frantic family romantic comedy built around the three Hiiragi sisters.

Why I'm curious

Yoshikawa already has a feel for lively ensemble romantic comedies, and this one adds a supernatural twist to the formula. A kid who has never had a family, moving in with people who are not quite human, is a strong hook for both laughs and heart. With no season named, I'd guess we are a while away from a premiere, but the timing of a vampire reveal on Halloween is hard to beat.

Volume 7 of the manga is due in Japan on December 16. You can keep an eye on the official anime site for staff and cast news.
