Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai Main PV Is Out, With Enako Singing the Opening and Joining the Cast
The January 2027 rom-com reveals its main PV, an Enako opening theme and role, and a December 13 advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 in Ikebukuro.

Of all the places to drop a main trailer, a Halloween cosplay festival is a pretty fitting one for this show. At the Ikebukuro Halloween Cosplay Fest 2026 special ceremony on October 31, the team behind Isshiki-san wa Koi wo Shiritai (Ms. Isshiki Wants to Know About Love) revealed the full PV and a surprise double role for one of Japan's best-known cosplayers.
Enako sings the opening and joins the cast
Cosplayer Enako is performing the opening theme, titled "Gou Yoku Koi wo Seisu!?", which you can hear for the first time in the new PV. She's also stepping into the voice booth as Nene, a laid-back nurse who works in the police infirmary and, according to the character notes, is quietly the most popular person in the whole station.
The PV also gives us our first listen to the four supporting cast members announced back in September:
- Haruki Ishiya as Danjuro Iwata
- Takuma Nagatsuka as Masato Nakatani
- Hiiro Ishibashi as Chikai Matsumoto
- Yu Wakui as Rena Yamakawa
They join leads Riko Akechi as Rinna Isshiki Milford and Shuichiro Umeda as Meishi Rokutanda.
A first look before January
The series premieres in January 2027 on AT-X, Kansai TV, TOKYO MX and other channels. Before that, an advance screening of episodes 1 and 2 is set for December 13 at Ikebukuro HUMAX Cinemas in Tokyo, followed by a talk show with Akechi, Umeda and Enako. A ticket lottery opened on October 31 and runs until November 23.
Why I'm keeping an eye on it
The premise is a cute twist on the detective rom-com: Rinna is a 17-year-old prodigy who already holds the rank of police inspector, nicknamed "Steel" for her calm, and the only thing she can't solve is why her heart races around a hopeless detective named Meishi. His solution is a fake relationship "for research", which is exactly the kind of setup that's fun to watch fall apart. Kazuya Komai directs at Sakura Create, with series composition by Deko Akao, so I'm curious how the comedy timing lands.
No international streaming partner has been announced yet, so I'll post an update if one is confirmed.
